Trouble at BitsF
In the midst of the chaos of the current flood disaster, I am sad to have to report to you that Bits Festival, like the Drift Restaurant pontoon, is going under.
As some of you were aware, I was not involved in organising the festival in 2010, having a production of my own to deal with. I am only now being made aware of some of the debts that the festival has incurred, and as ours is an unincorporated association, a partnership in effect, we are all personally responsible for those debts.
One of the unexpected debts came about when Tribal Theatre transformed themselves from a sponsor to a renter of space, hitting us with a huge bill for hire of the venue. That reminds me, I must change their status on our website!
So, this is just a brief update, I will let you know more details of the situation as they become available.
